The slots are difficult to use anything but malice clips on, so for my taser I'm using a teklok with some velcro wrapped around it and it still slides. Belt has an M17, 4 mags(2 rifle/2 pistol), IFAK, NODS pouch, and a dump pouch on it. The cheap inner belt has held up for about 10 months now without any issues. Don’t think there’s a need to spend too much on an inner. Just my 2¢
